In recognition of the indispensable role that students play in shaping the future of South Africa’s mining industry, and in alignment with the vision and mission of the South African Mining Youth Association (SAMYA), we, the student members and representatives across institutions of higher learning, hereby establish the Student Commission.  Rooted in the values of unity, development, and academic excellence, the Student Commission exists to champion the academic and professional interests of students pursuing careers in mining and related disciplines. We are committed to creating a vibrant, well-informed student community through the Miners Unite platform and to ensuring that the voices of students are heard, represented, and actively included in national mining dialogues. Through strategic partnerships, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and proactive leadership, we seek to empower the youth with the skills, networks, and opportunities needed to thrive in the mining sector and beyond. With unwavering dedication, we affirm our pledge to serve as the student engine of SAMYA, fostering leadership, participation, and transformation in pursuit of a just, inclusive, and progressive mining future.
