FOUNDING STATEMENT
SAMYA is a youth association that focuses on the inclusion and the development of young people in the mining sector. We do this through the means of giving practical exposure to the space with the use of our developmental programs aimed at highlighting the vast opportunities that exist within the sector. We do research on new developments, review and advocate for policies that speak towards a sustainable involvement of young people in mining. SAMYA collaborates with likeminded organization to realize this goal.
Our Mission
We advocate for the active inclusion of young people in the mining sector, recognizing their potential as a vital demographic for the industry's future. We aim to develop innovative strategies and models that facilitate the seamless integration of youth into the mining workforce. Serving as a dynamic think tank, the initiative provides a platform for young individuals already involved in or aspiring to venture into the mining sector, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Through strategic partnerships with mining companies, the initiative seeks to comprehend and address the unique challenges faced by young people in the industry.
Our Vision
SAMYA envisions a thriving mining sector in South Africa that is inclusive, sustainable, and driven by the active participation of young people.
